Articles of Faith
1. Of the Name of God.
THERE is but one living and true God, everlasting, whose proper name is
Yahweh as given us in the holy scriptures. הוהי
is the Hebrew Tetragrammaton for
Yahweh which is written in English as YHWH to which the vowels a and e are
insert for ease in reading. We also call him God which comes from the Hebrew םיהלא
which is pronounce Elohim or simply
Lord.
Lev 19:12 And
ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the name of
thy Elohim: I am Yahweh.
2. Of Faith in the Holy Trinity.
THERE is but one living and true God, everlasting, of infinite power, wisdom,
and goodness; the Maker, and Preserver of all things both visible and invisible.
And in the unity of this Godhead there are three states, of this one substance,
power, and eternity that he has shown to us; the Father, the Son, and the Holy
Spirit. As Yahweh commanded us:
Exo 20:3 Thou
shalt have no other elohim (gods) before me.
Exo 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image,
or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is
in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
Exo 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor
serve them: for I Yahweh thy Elohim am a jealous Almighty God), visiting
the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation
of them that hate me;
Exo 20:6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that
love me, and keep my commandments.
3. Of the Logos, which was made Man as the Son of God.
The Logos of the Father everlasting, very and eternal God,
and of one substance with the Father, took Man's nature in the body of the Son
of God so that two whole and perfect Natures, that is to say, the Godhead and
Manhood, were joined together in one Person, never to be divided, whereof is one
Messiah, very God, and very Man; who truly suffered, was crucified, dead, and
buried, to fulfill the promise of the Father to us, to provide a deliver, which
will lead us from sin down the path of righteousness.
Joh 1:1 In the
beginning was the Logos, and the Logos was with Elohim, and the Logos was Elohim.
4. Of the going down of the Messiah into Hell.
We believe Yeshua the Messiah died for us, and was buried;
so also it is to be believed, that he went down into Hell.
Mar 9:31-32 for He was
teaching His taught ones and said to them, “The Son of Ad_am is being
delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill Him. And having been
killed, He shall rise the third day.” But they did not understand the word,
and they were afraid to ask Him.
Eph 4:9-10 But what does “He went up” mean, except that He also
first went down into the lower parts of the earth? He who went down is also
the One who went up far above all the heavens, to fill all.
5. Of the Resurrection of the Messiah.
The Messiah did truly rise again from death, and took again
his body, with flesh, bones, and all things appertaining to the perfection of
Man’s nature; wherewith he ascended into Heaven, and there sitteth, until he
return to judge all people at the last day.
Luk 24:46 And
said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved the Messiah to suffer,
and to rise from the dead the third day:
Luk 24:51 And it came to pass, while he blessed them,
he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.
6. Of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit, is of one substance, majesty, and glory,
with the Father is the very essence of Yahweh.
Joh 14:26 But
the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my
name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance,
whatsoever I have said unto you.
7. Of the Law and Prophets
(Old Testament).
God’s covenants are everlastings both in the Old and New
Testament. As the Messiah tells us the Law given from God by Moses, bind true
believers today as much as they did in the time of Moses.
Gen 17:7 And I will establish my covenant between me
and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an covenant, to be
a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.
Deu 17:19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read
therein all the days of his life: thathe may learn to fear the
LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and
these statutes, to do them:
Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that
they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law
or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and
earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till
all be fulfilled.
Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these
least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in
the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the
same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
8. Of the Clergy
We believe leaders of the Messiah’s assemblies must meet
the qualifications of such leader ship as proscribed by God, taught us by the
Messiah, practiced by the apostles and recorded in the Holy Scriptures. We
therefore believe that members of the clergy should be believers in God and
the Messiah, should be male, should be married to a woman, should be living
their lives according the law of God, and should be dedicated to teaching the
Divine Logos of God to all those who will listen and learn. Such believes are
self manifest in the scriptures including the following.
Luk 6:13 And when it became
day, He called near His taught ones and chose from them twelve, whom He also
named emissaries:
Joh 3:16-17 “For Elohim (God) so loved the world that He gave His
only brought-forth Son, so that everyone who believes in Him should not perish
but possess everlasting life. “For Elohim (God) did not send His Son into
the world to judge the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
1Ti 3:1-13 Trustworthy is the word: If a man longs for the position of
an overseer, he desires a good work. An overseer, then, should be blameless,
the husband of one wife, sober, sensible, orderly, kind to strangers, able to
teach, not given to wine, no brawler, but gentle, not quarrelsome, no lover of
money, one who rules his own house well, having his children in subjection
with all reverence, for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how
shall he look after the assembly of Elohim (God)? Not a new convert, lest he
become puffed up with pride and fall into the judgment of the devil. And he
should even have a good witness from those who are outside, lest he fall into
reproach and the snare of the devil. Likewise attendants are to be reverent,
not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy for filthy gain,
holding to the secret of the belief with a clean conscience. And let these
also be proved first, then let them serve, if they are unreprovable. Wives in
the same way: reverent, not false accusers, sober, trustworthy in every way.
Let attendants be the husbands of only one wife, ruling children and
their own houses well. For those who have served well as attendants gain good
standing for themselves, and much boldness in the belief that is in Messiah
Yeshua ( עשוה').
Tit 1:5-11 The reason I left you in Crete was that you should
straighten out what was left undone, and appoint elders in every city as I
commanded you: if anyone is unreprovable, the husband of one wife, having
believing children not accused of loose behaviour, or unruly. For an overseer
has to be unreprovable, as a managing one of Elohim (God), not self-pleasing,
not wroth, not given to wine, no brawler, not greedy for filthy gain, but kind
to strangers, a lover of what is good, sensible, righteous, set-apart,
self-controlled, clinging to the trustworthy word, according to the teaching,
in order to be able both to encourage by sound teaching, and to reprove those
who oppose it. For there are many unruly men, senseless talkers and deceivers,
especially those of the circumcision, whose mouths have to be stopped, who
upset entire households, teaching what they should not teach, for the
sake of filthy gain.
1Co 14:33-36 For Elohim (God) is not Elohim (God) of disorder
but of peace, as in all the assemblies of the set-apart ones. Let your women
be silent in the assemblies (Churches), for they are not allowed to speak, but
let them subject themselves, as the Law also says. And if they wish to learn
whatever, let them ask their own husbands at home, for it is improper for
women to speak in an assembly (Churches). Or did the word of Elohim (God) go
out from you? Or did it reach only to you?
1Pe 3:5 For in this way, in former times, the set-apart women who
trusted in Elohim (God) also adorned themselves, being subject to their own
husbands,
Tit 2:3-4 the older women likewise are to be set-apart in behaviour,
not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of what is good, in order for
them to train the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,
